We are so excited to welcome and host an amazing line up of acts here at Le Monde for a renaissance of the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival began its life in 1947 with several acts spread across 5 venues throughout the city. Today, the festival has over 2600 host venues, 300 acts and over 200 street vendors selling local Scottish produce.
2018 saw the festival reach the highest attendee volume at over 3 million across the entire city, making it the most popular culture and arts festival internationally, only to be beaten by the World Cup and Olympics by ticket sales.
Le Monde hotel has played a role in offering our iconic Dirty Martini event space as a venue for Fringe acts over the years, and this year is no different.
We are so excited to welcome tribute acts Adele Someone Like Me, Shelton on Sinatra and Beach Boy’s Sounds, as well as the amazing Scotland’s Magic Sensation to quench your entertainment thirst.
Adele Someone Like Me
Madeira’s own Sarah Borges expresses her own exceptional talent through the great songs of world superstar Adele. Celebrating all the hits from Hello, Skyfall, Rolling in the Deep, Easy on Me to Someone Like You. Relax into the plush cabaret setting of Le Monde on George Street and soak up the magic (and the cocktails!). By the team behind Oliver Harris.
Beach Boys Sounds
The UK’s leading Beach Boys tribute act The Beached Boys comes to the Edinburgh Fringe. Hear live hits such as California Girls, I Get Around, Surfin’ USA, Barbara Ann and many more. Tickets for this session of Hawaiian shirts and Good Vibrations will sell out fast, so book early to avoid disappointment!
Scotland’s Magic Sensation
Experienced, friendly and engaging Scottish premier magician Leigh Milne in fast-paced and hilarious interactive magic and ventriloquist show for all the family. Harking back to Scotland’s variety traditions, this family-friendly show will have kids through to grandparents howling for more and kids loving the friendly but naughty Comedy Monsters, Magical Dragons and Cheeky Chimps. Shelton on Sinatra
Critically acclaimed singer Richard Shelton (Sinatra: Raw, Sinatra and Me, Rat Pack Confidential) returns to Edinburgh’s premier cabaret venue with live backing to entertain you with an hour of Sinatra’s classic songs and some rarer uncovered beauties. ‘Shelton’s vocals are remarkable, manifesting not only Sinatra’s sliding rhythms and nuanced phrasing, but also the timbre of that famous instrument.’ (Times). ‘One of the world’s finest Sinatra interpreters.’ (Los Angeles Times). ‘The hit songs, interwoven with teasing irony into the story get a rapturous response, especially thanks to Richard Shelton as an unnervingly authentic Sinatra.’ (Stage)
